Bio
Charles McTyere Parker III (born November 4, 1982) is an American multidisciplinary visual artist, musician, actor, and filmmaker originally from Memphis, Tennessee. Parker has lived and worked in Knoxville, Tennessee, since 2022. His physical studio practice relies heavily on a tactile dialogue with raw, repurposed elements including found objects, textiles, paper, film photography, wax and paint to create material abstractions that explore themes of anxiety, memory, isolation, and structural decay. Charles has emerged as an active filmmaker with his directorial debut, Sketch for Summer, which he also wrote and acted in. The short film was shot on location in Memphis, TN, during July of 2026, and will be released sometime in 2027.
